Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. She was also a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals straightforward, simple techniques to master for home cooks on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell was a student and worked at the top New York restaurants. He has also competed in Iron Chef America and the cuisine of Italy. While growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for cooking and food from a young age. The Culinary Institute of America is where she went following her graduation with an English diploma and Communications diploma from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing learning experience for me. I couldn't be more educated or accomplished in my studies. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. Burrell gained a greater appreciation of Italian culture and cuisine while in Italy, which has influenced the way she cooks. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of kids who struggle. She also is an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate where she promotes awareness of juvenile diabetics. In her capacity as a speaker, she is on the road to speak about her passion for food and her culinary career. Anne always felt fortunate that she was able to share her passion that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
